Last summer, a precious artifact — believed to be an early test model used in the Avro Arrow jet fighter program — was recovered from the bottom of Lake Ontario. Covered in zebra mussels from its years spent under the water, the artifact’s preservation requires enormous amounts of painstaking work from highly-trained conservators.
