The Canada Aviation and Space Museum is open year-round.
The museum is open Wednesday to Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on Tuesdays.
The museum will be closed for a week of maintenance January 6 - 10, 2025.
The museum is open on statutory holidays, except December 25.
The museum offers free admission from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is free on Canada Day (July 1) and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30).

By Public Transit
OC Transpo route 25 brings you to the Museum. Please check the route schedule and map carefully, as not all 25 buses bring you directly to the Museum’s doorstep.
Alternatively, OC Transpo route 7 takes you to the intersection of St Laurent Boulevard and Hemlock Road. From there, you can walk to the Museum by following Hemlock Road eastwards to the Aviation Parkway. (Approximate distance to the Museum is 1.4 kilometres.)
By Airplane
The Museum is conveniently located next to the Ottawa Rockcliffe Airport, home of the Rockcliffe Flying Club. GPS co-ordinates are N45 27 46 W75 38 46. If visiting by airplane:
- When you arrive at Rockcliffe, contact the Rockcliffe Flying Club at radio frequency 123.5 — club personnel will notify the Museum of your visit.
- Taxi over to the Museum, and park at the northeast corner of the building.
- A Museum Visitor Services staff member will greet you and escort you to the Museum.

An average visit to the museum lasts two hours.
A daily maximum parking ticket is valid at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum (same day only).

Food and drink are not permitted on the museum floor.
During temperate weather, picnic tables are available adjacent to the museum.

Accessibility
The Canada Aviation and Space Museum is dedicated to accessibility for all.
With a few minor exceptions, the museum building and grounds are barrier-free. Regular and motorized wheelchairs are available for use in the museum. Strollers are also available. There is no extra charge for wheelchair or stroller use. For individuals or groups with special needs, such as visual or hearing impairments or learning disabilities, museum staff will gladly work with you to accommodate.
Designated Accessible Parking
As part of the Museum’s commitment to full accessibility, designated spaces are available for people with special needs (permit required). There is no fee for parking vehicles with this permit.
Downloadable Self-Guided Tours
The Museum has prepared self-guided tours for several of its exhibitions. They include panel texts, descriptions of exhibition content, and navigation directions. Visitors can download the Braille Ready File (.brf) for use on their personal braille reading device, or the Portable Document Format (.pdf) for use with text reading software such as Voice Dream. The Museum currently has self-guided tours for the Health in Space, Eyes on the Skies and Early Aviation exhibitions.

Facilities
There are lots of things to see and do as you explore Canada’s aviation and aerospace technology! Among the museum’s highlights are the largest surviving pieces of the famous Avro Arrow (its nose section and two wing tips), the original Canadarm used on the Endeavour space shuttle and the Lancaster bomber from the Second World War.
Visitors to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum enjoy more than just a world-renowned collection of aircraft and artifacts. Top-notch facilities and amenities ensure your visit is both memorable and comfortable.

It is recommended that all visitors reserve their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. This includes Ingenium Members and those visiting during the free hour.

The Canada Aviation and Space Museum is a national museum and is open to all. Respectful use of the space and resources ensures a safe and enriching experience for all visitors.
We ask that you adhere to the guidelines defined in the PDF below.

- Any bag exceeding 35cm x 35cm x 15.25cm in size
- Hard-covered briefcases
- Flags, banners, or posters that might obstruct a visitor’s view
- Alcohol and glass bottles
- Drones or other similar objects
- Any object that makes noise (bells, horns)
- Any animal, except service animals (presentation of certification required)
- Fireworks or other pyrotechnical apparatus
- Laser pointers

- Any person with that type of item in their possession will be denied access to the venue, unless they voluntarily dispose of the object in the containers provided for this purpose

Filming and Photos
Cameras and video cameras are permitted in the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. Devices must be hand-held, and photographs or films must be for personal use only.
The aircraft and artifacts on display throughout the Museum may be easily damaged. Visitors are asked to respect barriers and exercise care when photographing or filming.
