Welcome Wednesdays is an initiative designed to open our museum doors to those in our community that might not otherwise be able to experience the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.
On selected Wednesday evenings this summer, you and your family can enjoy free parking and free entry to the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum — including the animal barns, exhibitions, and Demonstration Kitchen. Join us for special activities and demonstrations from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.; each evening will feature a special theme!
Join us at any or all of our Welcome Wednesdays this summer:
- June 26, 2024 (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.): Planting Roots
- July 24, 2024 (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.): A Taste of Summer
- August 21, 2024 (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.): Fun in the Sun!
Planting Roots
June’s Welcome Wednesday will be focused on “Planting Roots!”
Join us on June 26, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Roll up your sleeves and take part in interactive activities in the Soil Lab, then take a stroll through the Soil Lab Garden. Learn about some Canadian animal breeds and test your knowledge about fibers that come from plants and animals. In the Demonstration Kitchen, check out how tasty roots can be as we cook with root vegetables.
Welcome Wednesdays is made possible through the support of the Ingenium Foundation and its generous donors. Welcome Wednesdays is designed to provide enhanced access to those in our community that might not otherwise be able to experience all that Ingenium has to offer. Ingenium is committed to removing barriers — providing a level of inclusivity that gives everyone the same opportunity to gain meaningful, scientific understanding that will enable them to live a happy, healthy and fulfilled life. Welcome Wednesdays at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is open to visitors of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
For groups planning to visit the museum during Welcome Wednesdays, please note that additional accessibility supports and subsidized transportation are available upon request. Please contact emorrison@IngeniumCanada.org for more details.
