AgVenture: Soil Science

A teenage girl with long curly black hair holds a test tube half-filled with soil. The classroom behind her is out of focus.

Bring the museum experience to your classroom with the AgVenture mobile education program.

Programs are adapted based on grade level.

Secondary School Grades 9 and 11 (ON) | Secondary Cycle 2 (QC)

Program Description

What are soils made of? What are nutrients and why are they important for plant health? In this fun hands-on program, students extract and measure the level of Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium in a soil sample. They learn how farmers use this information to increase the sustainability of their farm.

Consult this Educational Activity Kit for ideas to extend the learning — and the fun!
