History:
This hand-cranked dusting device was worn by the farmer while he worked in garden plots or small areas of the field. It treated broad-leafed plants such as potatoes. The long nozzle could be directed under the bottom side of the leaves to blow insecticide where the pests were hiding.

The museum purchased the insecticide duster for the national collection in 1980.
Technical History:
The insecticide duster was used in Eastern Canada to control insect infestations on potato plants.
