History:
Hung from a wall or rafter, this handmade implement was used to dry feed-corn over the fall and winter. In the spring, farmers used the dried kernels to seed that year’s corn crop.
Technical History:
Farmers in eastern Canada used such devices as part of their annual preparation for seeding.
