On July 15, microplastics researcher Imari Walker (@Calimari93) took over the @SciTechMuseum Twitter account to share her experiences as a Black woman in the field of science and engineering.

A 5th year PhD candidate in Environmental Engineering at Duke University, Imari is studying chemicals in microplastics in water. On YouTube, Imari explores the effects of microplastic pollution and the harmful chemicals in personal care products. She also provides tips to thrive in school.
