Plan Your Onsite School Program: Teacher Tips and Information

Four smiling museum guides stand in a classroom. They are wearing blue shirts and black pants. The two women are wearing colourful paper wigs. One man is holding a yellow paper sun above his head. The second man is wearing a colourful yellow crown.

The Museum offers curriculum-based educational programs designed to give students a chance to explore and create alongside our world-class aerospace collection.

Free for Teachers

Want to explore the Museum ahead of your class trip? Teachers visit the Museum free of charge when they present proof of their teaching status.

Reserve Your Program Three Weeks in Advance

Send your program request at least three weeks prior to your desired visit date. Make your reservation request online online or by calling the Reservations Office at 613-991-3053 or 1-800-463-2038. Please allow 48 hours for a reply.

Program fees are per student. Minimum fees apply. All prices are subject to change without notice. Payment may be made in advance or upon arrival. The Museum accepts cash, debit, credit cards, or cheques (payable to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum).

Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance. A $30 cancellation fee applies unless the program is rescheduled within the same school year. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are subject to an $100 cancellation fee. In the case of bus cancellations due to inclement weather, fees are waived if the program is rescheduled in the same school year.

Spend More Time at the Museum

Plan to spend 1 to 1 ½ additional hours at the Museum. This will give you time to explore the Museum before or after your program, watch aircraft taking off and landing (in good weather), and visit the Aeronautica Boutique.

If you plan to stay for lunch, ask the Customer Engagement Team about the Museum’s boxed lunch options provided by The Collective café (advanced booking required).

Take More than Memories Back to School

Bring your camera to document the fun. The Museum is also equipped with Wi-Fi so you can tweet or post about your visit (in accordance with your school’s social media policies). Be sure to use #AvSpaceMuseum to tag your photos.

If your program includes a craft, remember to bring bags so that you can take your students’ creations back to school more easily.
