OTTAWA, March 23, 2016 – What better way to celebrate Easter weekend than by exploring the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (CAFM), where the barns are coming to life again after a long winter?
While the younger ones take part in the classic Easter egg hunt, see if you can spot the various “signs of Spring” that surround you. Learn some eggs-traordinary facts about chickens. Did you ever wonder if chicks could hatch from the eggs you buy at the grocery store? You’ll find out over the Easter weekend, and you can see the newly-hatched chicks and ducklings as well.
The newly-hatched fledglings aren’t the only new animals on a farm in Spring. Visit the newly-born lambs and kids. Our guides will be on hand to help you pet our softest, cutest newborns, and the rabbits as well.
While you see all there is to discover at the CAFM over Easter weekend, you might work up an appetite. Be sure to visit the demonstration kitchen to discover a variety of recipes using chocolate. Learn how to make them at home, and don’t forget to taste them yourself first.
Easter weekend activities at the CAFM will take place from Good Friday to Easter Monday, March 25-28. For more details, visit:
