The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is excited to host Baconpalooza on Saturday, September 12, 2015. This first-time event celebrates the best of what bacon has to offer, and features some of the city’s hottest food trucks, as well as beer and cocktail tents, cooking-with-bacon demonstrations, and live entertainment by Ottawa’s Juno Award-winning MonkeyJunk!
Baconpalooza visitors will be able to appreciate every aspect of this beloved food! A bacon themed market will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to purchase unique bacon-inspired goodies — from sweets to soaps and everything in between. Sizzlin’ cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs Lynn Crawford, Steph the Grilling Gourmet, world-class curer Mike McKenzie, Iron Chef America contender Lora Kirk, as well as chefs Michael Blackie of NeXT, and Shane Kennedy of The WORKS, will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. As well, some of Ottawa’s best food trucks, trailers, and stalls will be on site offering customized menus for Baconpalooza from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
A special VIP Night takes place Friday, September 11, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests can see cooking demonstrations by chef Lynn Crawford and Seed to Sausage’s Mike McKenzie, sample a nine-course menu of bacon-infused small bites prepared by Chef Michael Blackie of NeXT, taste craft brews, and enjoy live music by Bang On The Ear.
