October 28, 2021, Ottawa, ON - The Ingenium Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of four new Directors, including a new Chair and Vice-Chair following its 2021 annual general meeting.
Angela Bishop, Christine Gervais, Gilles LeVasseur and Reyhaneh Sayfi join the multidisciplinary team of Canadians who bring deep experience in science, technology, innovation and philanthropy to their governance roles. LeVasseur is the new Chair of the Board of Directors, and Gervais has been elected Vice-Chair.
The Ingenium Foundation is a major champion for advancing scientific literacy and inspiring innovators across Canada. The Foundation amplifies all aspects of Ingenium’s mission which includes giving Canadians an opportunity to celebrate our country’s rich history of scientific discoveries and supports it’s three museums; the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum.
The Ingenium Foundation would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to past Chair Greg Mumford who departs after more than a decade of distinguished service.
About the New Ingenium Foundation Directors
• ANGELA BISHOP – MBA, ICD.D (HALIFAX, NS)
Angela Bishop has close to two decades of experience in consulting and non-profit leadership. She has advanced collaborative solutions in diverse areas such as affordable housing, corporate social responsibility, careers education strategy, social enterprise, and sustainable food production.
• CHRISTINE GERVAIS – CPL, ATC (OTTAWA, ON)
Christine Gervais is a passionate aviator and STEAM champion. She has more than 25 years of experience in the field of aviation as a commercial pilot, air traffic controller and airspace manager with NAV CANADA. She currently serves as the President and CEO of Canadian Owners and Pilots Association (COPA).
• J.L. GILLES LEVASSEUR - O.ONT, LLD, LSM, CD (OTTAWA, ON)
J.L. Gilles LeVasseur is presently a University Professor in Business and Law at the University of Ottawa. Over the past 30 years, he chaired several national organizations from the Institute of Public Administration of Canada to Chamberfest Festival, the Coop Movement in Ontario and the Federal Court Challenge Program.
• REYHANEH SAYFI– PPL, M.SC, E.MBA (TOULOUSE, FRANCE)
Reyhaneh Sayfi has worked for a number of international and multinational companies including IATA, ICAO, Bombardier, Spirit AeroSystems and currently Latécoere, where she is Commercial and Program Director. She holds a number of degrees including an MEng in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, an MA in Aircraft Airworthiness and Aviation Safety as well as an EMBA.
