Shawinigan, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 – The Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation and the DigiHub Shawinigan are pleased to announce a partnership. The announcement was made today at the DigiHub offices in Shawinigan with François-Philippe Champagne, MP for Saint-Maurice-Champlain and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, and Shawinigan Mayor Mr. Michel Angers.
The organisations will be working together to explore innovative uses of digital technologies in the heritage sector. DigiHub serves as an umbrella organization for a wide range of companies that focus on innovations in applications of digital technology and digital creativity. The work of this organisation will align nicely with the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation’s mandate of preserving Canadian scientific and technological heritage through its collection. The main areas of mutual interest include:
- Exploration of how digital technologies and new digital media channels can be used to deliver rich museum content and engaging educational experiences
- Joint research and development in the innovative application of digital technologies to cultural heritage
