Spring has arrived and the planting season is upon us! Throughout the months of May and June, the museum invites you to participate in activities and demonstrations around the theme of “Planting Roots.”
Have you ever met a duck with a day job? In fact, ducks often play important roles on the farm! Learn all about the work ducks can do during the “Ducks with Jobs” demonstration. You can also meet the horses and Chantecler chickens, then learn about various cow breeds in our “Dairy Cow Breed of the Day.”
The kids will love listening to an animal-themed book during our morning Story Time, and they can also participate in a fun “Plant or Animal” game every afternoon. Be sure to stop by the museum’s Demonstration Kitchen, where we’ll be highlighting two all-star root vegetables: carrots and potatoes! Samples of our featured recipes will be available for tasting (while supplies last).
