Ingenium and Illumination Games release Skies of Fury DX for Nintendo Switch™

OTTAWA, April 17, 2018

Ingenium – Canada’s Museums of Science and Innovation and Illumination Games are thrilled to announce the launch of a new game, Skies of Fury DX for the Nintendo Switch™ system.

Skies of Fury DX is the first-ever aviation dogfighting game released on Nintendo Switch. The game allows players to experience historical Bloody April, 1917, as both British and German pilots. Players can fly in formation with wingmen, perform daring aerial maneuvers, and activate their ultimate ability to unleash fury on their enemies. Skies of Fury DX features 10 unique WW1 planes – based on British and German designs and true to the time period – and six stunning, hand-painted environments. Dogfight through the single-player campaign, or challenge your friends to an epic multiplayer, split-screen battle.

Ingenium, which encompasses three national institutions – the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum – harnessed stories from Canada’s rich aviation history in the creation of Skies of Fury DX. The game offers an “edutainment” experience; players engage in exciting, dogfighting action while taking a historical journey through one of the deadliest periods in WW1. Interesting historical facts and stories are unlocked between missions.

Users can now purchase Skies of Fury DX in North America in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch. For more information visit www.skiesoffury.com.

Founded by Ingenium and SEED Interactive, Illumination Games has been the successful publisher of five mobile games which have been downloaded over 2,175,000 times in 185 countries.

QUOTE

“Bloody April occurred during a significant period in the development of aircraft for combat, and demonstrated the importance of innovation in winning the war. It’s fitting that a national museum should launch the first aviation dogfighting game on Nintendo Switch. This illustrates how Ingenium is finding creative ways to share Canada’s aviation history – reaching beyond its walls to connect with Canadians and others around the world.”
