Since its UN declaration in 1999, World Space Week has grown into the largest public space event on Earth. Last year, more than 3,700 events in 80 countries celebrated the benefits of Space and excitement about Space exploration! The 2018 theme is “Space Unites the World.”
Star Party - CANCELLED
UPDATE: Due to poor weather expected this evening, @RASC will not be setting up their telescopes for stargazing. The World Space Week Launch event is still scheduled to run, with crafts, a public talk from Science Advisor Dr. Jesse Rogerson, and public demonstrations.
Listen in as Jesse Rogerson — a professional astrophysicist and the museum’s science advisor — speaks about what it’s like to be an astronomer. Have a Space question? Feel free to ask Jesse!
BETWEEN THE PLANETS
Join this fun demonstration to find out what comets, asteroids, and meteorites have in common.
