Join us at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum this holiday season and discover how animals adapt and survive during the winter through a presentation from the Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre. Watch a mesmerizing Poi performance from Louve, a professional circus performer. Visitors can also enjoy our 4th annual gingerbread house village which will be on display for viewing and judging. For some comfort food, join us in our demonstration kitchen to learn how to make a holiday breakfast casserole and warm up with our homemade cranberry spice beverage. Don’t forget to stop by our light garden and get creative making a beautiful themed winter lantern.

Join us for our 4th annual Cookie Day to help bake cookies to donate to the Ottawa Mission. We encourage non-perishable food donations.

Special Poi Performance by Louve

December 29th ONLY, ongoing from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Watch a spell-binding Poi performance by Louve, a professional circus performer. A form of illuminated performance art, Poi involves spinning tethered weights in a variety of rhythmical and geometric patterns.

Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre

Saturday January 4th, 10 a.m.
Discover which birds migrate, learn about their feathers and about how some others adapt and stay warm during the winter season. The presentation will also highlight various owl species and owl pellet dissection.

Light Garden – Craft Corner

Kids and adults alike are invited to join us in our light garden – to decorate a beautiful winter themed lantern out of a Mason jar! Bring your creation home to decorate for the holidays. Children will also delight in reading our selection of winter themed books.

Gingerbread House Village

Ongoing
Making gingerbread houses has become a popular holiday tradition for many families. Visit our gingerbread house village display and vote for your favourite amongst the participating families to the contest. Learn about the history of the gingerbread house along the way.

Holiday Breakfast Casserole

Learn how easy it is to put this delicious breakfast casserole together so you can spend more time with your loved ones this holiday season!

Warm Cranberry Spice Beverage

10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Join us in our demonstration kitchen to warm up this holiday season! Come and sample this delectable drink.
