It’s time to celebrate! The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is highlighting Canada’s birthday with lots of exciting activities for the whole family. Our special demonstrations will offer visitors the chance to learn about Canadian agriculture and learn about different Canadian breeds of livestock. There will be games, a craft, ice cream making and tasting, as well a chance to sample a Canadian classic: Nanaimo bars.

Admission is free.

Please make yourself aware of enhanced security measures in place at all Museums and events.

Ice Cream Making

10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
The young and young-at-heart, can help make ice cream using an old-fashioned hand-crank freezer. The best part? Everyone who helps can taste the end result!

The Great Canadian Quiz

Ongoing activity - closed from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Visitors can spin the wheel and test their knowledge of Canadian trivia.

Kids Craft & Games Station

Ongoing activity - closed from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Kids are invited to play games and make a Canada Day-themed craft to take home.

Nanaimo Bars

Ongoing activity - closed from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Visitors are invited to the demonstration kitchen to sample this delicious, three layered treat. Learn about where the ingredients come from and interesting facts about the origins of this Canadian classic.

Historical Site Tour with Tea Time

Noon
Join us as we take a walk down memory lane and discover interesting historical facts about our beloved Museum and its surrounding heritage buildings. The tour will end with a sample of tea, just like it was served all those years ago at the Experimental Farm’s annual garden parties.

Face Painting ($)

The Painted Pixie will be on site to work her magic!

Food Services ($)

“The Tent” by Maple Café will be on site to offer food services.

Dominion Day on the Farm ($)

11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Enjoy artisanal beer, delicious food, and great local bands as you celebrate Canada's birthday with Dominion City Brewing Co.

Tickets are $25 ($30 at the door). Stroller-bound kids or babies in arms attend free, children's admission is $5 and includes a maple taffy. Tickets are now on sale. Members of the Dominion City Loyalist League can purchase tickets at a discount now.
