When you hear “museum job,” what do you think of? The guides and hosts you see when you visit? Maybe curators who build collections, or conservators who preserve and take care of precious artifacts? All good answers, and extremely important jobs — but not the ONLY jobs.

Jó naput / hello, my reading friend. And yes, you are quite right in saying that the photograph at the beginning of this article did not appear in La semaine à Radio-Canada¸ a weekly published in Montréal, Québec, in October 1959 or 1969. I appealed to it because it allowed me to talk about a Québec television series aimed at a young audience, one of the first televised science fiction series in Québec and Canada in fact, whose premiere took place in October 1959, 60 years ago. Produced by the

“Museums in a Digital World” certainly describes Ingenium’s trio of museums in Ottawa, which include the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, and the Canada Science and Technology Museum. It also happened to be the overarching theme for the 46th annual Conference of the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Science and Technology (CIMUSET), hosted by Ingenium. Ave / hello, my reading friend. I have a confession to make. Err, yes, I am a bit wacky, but this admission is not the one I had in mind. I must confess I have been interested in the history of science and, perhaps even more, to that of technology for many, many years. If it is true that I have a weakness for the history of aviation, I dare to hope I have somewhat catholic, in other word universal, fields of interest, and ... And yes, you’re right, I plan once again to move away from the only

Good morning, my reading friend. Yours truly is pleased to see that your interest in the CF-RCK television series remains. I assume you want to know more about it. Let us therefore begin this overview without any further ado. Produced in 2 distinct sets of episodes, CF-RCK looked at the adventures and mishaps of the owners of a Cessna Model 180 registered as, you guessed it, CF-RCK. And no, my reading friend, I can not confirm that this registration was chosen because the show was broadcasted by

Top of the morning, my reading friend, and welcome to the wonderful world of aviation and space. With your permission, or without it, if need be, yours truly will move a little away from our usual anniversarial approach to address a subject that is close to my heart. One of the first, if not the first fictional / entertainment Canadian television series devoted to aviation went on the air in November 1958. It was entitled CF-RCK. This weekly production of Société Radio-Canada, a state-owned
