The Wonderful World of Woolly the Sheep Travelling Edukit

Through stories, games, and fun activities, primary students learn all about The Wonderful World of Woolly the Sheep. Specifically, this travelling edukit teaches students from Kindergarten to Grade 2 all about sheep and wool and how they relate to humans.

Students learn about:

  • characteristics and needs of sheep
  • ways sheep communicate with each other
  • duties of the shepherd, the herding dog, and guard animals
  • predators that threaten sheep
  • products that come from sheep and wool
  • properties of wool and other fibres
  • the felting properties of wool

This interactive bilingual edukit developed by the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is a wonderful way to introduce primary students to the world of sheep and wool. The kit includes a teacher’s manual with extensive background material and lesson plans. It also includes all the necessary books, DVDs, pictures, posters, games, samples, and props.
